Friday 12 June 2026--Gray day, my last in La Grave. I knew one day here would be a museum day, and so it is--I spend a good part of the afternoon in the Musée de la Mer. Walking up there, I pass the site of the restaurant Vent du Large, which I regret not having visited on earlier trips. The site belonged earlier to the Irving oil company, and now is being decontaminated. It's a shame, as Vent du Large was a well-loved community asset.
Dinner is again at Café de la Grave. There is entertainment for the evening, as there was last night, a young woman playing guitar (or piano, yesterday) and singing pop songs. Could be worse...I have a fond memory of an old hippie playing a tango on the piano during morning coffee, years ago.
